My name is Veronica Carles. I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela; therefore, I am bilingual in both English and Spanish. I moved to Seattle WA in 2006, where I attended Seattle Pacific University and graduated Magna cum laude from nutritional sciences. After graduation, I interned at Sea Mar Community Health Centers where I became a registered dietitian in 2011. 10 years of experience as a dietitian, have led me to develop areas of expertise; my main focus is weight management and nutrition for optimizing athletic performance.
Since a young age, nutrition has been a drive of mine. At age 15, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) which causes hormonal imbalances among other complications. When not managed adequately, weight gain is a common consequence. This sparked my curiosity and subsequent commitment to learn about medical nutrition therapy management and the impact food has on our bodies.
It was my own process of transformation and growth that originated from my personal journey of losing 60 pounds over a one-year period which led me to develop this real and authentic connection with my clients. Truly relating and sharing my insights, allows me to be privileged to guide you through your own path. My one passion and calling in life is to motivate people, so they are inspired to find balance and discover a place of fulfillment, acceptance, and heighted nutritional knowledge.
Exercise is an especially important part of my life. It not only helps me feel strong and fit, but it centers me and let me be honest, it keeps me sane. On a regular basis, I practice hot yoga, run, and work with a physical trainer. However, I also love doing fun and dynamic workouts such as Barry’s Bootcamp or Soul-cycle. My three greatest exercise achievements have been running 3 half-marathons which with much determination and commitment I completed in less than 2 hours.
My principal objective is to show you a real-life person with similar struggles as you, with the intention of revealing how I pursue balance; so, you can learn to achieve it yourself. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals.
