Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce announces annual award winners

April 5, 2019, Cayuga County, NY – The Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the winners of the 2019 Chamber Awards. These Chamber of Commerce members are being recognized for their unique contributions to the economy and overall development of Cayuga County.

Phyllis Goldman Award recognizes a woman who owns a business (or is a majority owner) and has demonstrated a noteworthy entrepreneurial pursuit. Nominees are owners in for‐profit businesses (within the last seven years) who inspire and mentor other women to do the same. The Phyllis Goldman Encouragement Award is given in honor and memory of Phyllis Goldman, a local business woman. Phyllis inspired women to stretch themselves beyond society’s norms and expectations by following their dreams and hearts as they pursue a career and redirected their life paths.

This year’s recipient is Kelly Springer, Founder & Owner of Kelly’s Choice Nutritional Company.

The Terri Bridenbecker Young Professional Award recognizes an individual, under the age of 40, who is pursuing excellence in their career.

-This year’s recipient is Renee Jensen, Senior Planner at the City of Auburn.

Small Business of the Year Award

In Business Less Than 5 Years – demonstrates entrepreneurship evidenced by diversification, creativity & imagination.

-This year’s recipient is Live It Fitness And Training (LIFT), owned by Jessica Kelly.

In Business 5+ Years – demonstrates the ability to overcome adversities in the ever-changing business environment and staying power with a commitment to community involvement.

– This year’s recipient is Custom Engraving Inc., owned by Greg & Marc Huber.

Business Leader Award

We honor businesses that continually invest in Cayuga County & have shown leadership by taking an active role in our community.

-This year’s recipient is Home Instead Senior Care.

Non-Profit of the Year Award

Recognizes a non-profit organization that contributes to the success of our community by enhancing the quality of life or contributing to the economic base of Cayuga County.

-This year’s recipient is Cayuga Community Health Network.

Community Leadership Award, sponsored by Cuddy Financial Services, recognizes a Leadership Cayuga alum for their participation in civic organizations and leadership roles in both their organization and in the community.

-This year Leadership Cayuga celebrates Stephanie Hutchinson, Executive Director at Auburn Housing Authority.

The Chamber of Commerce congratulates these winners and invites you to the Annual Chamber Awards Luncheon, proudly sponsored by Five Star Bank, on Wednesday, May 8 at 11:30am. The event will be held at The Springside Inn, 6141 West Lake Rd, Auburn, NY. Tickets are $40.00 and can be purchased online at: www.cayugacountychamber.com, no later than May 3.
